Fall in Michigan

Matthew had a field trip to the Dallas Zoo on Wednesday. matthew was so excited to have his mom join the trip. I had a group of 4 to tour around the zoo. It was fun but I was exhausted afterwards.
We headed to Michigan for the weekend. We enjoyed visiting with family, apple picking, and eating lots of pie.

House for sale

We had a couple of showings this week. It's hard because we have to keep things clean and disappear during the showing. We move in the new house around mid-November. Just in time for the holidays.

Audrey got the flu mist last Saturday and then started feeling sick with a low grade fever and sniffles. She went to school on Tuesday and had a decent day but then woke up on Wed worse than the day before so I kept her home. She has ballet on Tuesdays and loves it!

Matthew is doing well in his school. He tries to be a great help at home and he tries to play with Audrey in order to be dazzling. This is what the teacher encourages them to do. It's working!

In this photo, he is teaching Audrey how to play hopscotch despite the fact that she wasn't doing it right. The kids love Roxy. It's been fun having her around.

Pumpkin decorating

The weather is finally cooling off for fall. When we left for San Diego the temperature was in the 90's and when we returned it was in the 70's. It's about time! My parents came into town over the weekend. They arrived on Friday evening in time for family game night. We played Monopoly Jr and Matthew won. On Saturday, we went to the park and played around the house and everyone took a long nap. In the evening, all the adults went to the Eagles concert. It was a great concert! And then on Sunday, we decorated pumpkins and made Carmel apples. Fall is here!

Snaggles and San Diego

On Monday, Matthew lost his first tooth. It was wiggly over the weekend and then came out while he was eating. He was very excited. They walked him down to the nurses office and gave him a special plastic treasure chest to put his tooth in. He put it under his pillow and the tooth fairy brought $1. Matthew had lots of questions on how that fairy could carry his heavy tooth.

Matthew's school let out early Thursday and they were off Friday so we took a trip to San Diego to visit Aunt Lori. Andy stayed behind to work and get the house ready for an open house showing on Sunday. We came back on Sunday to a nice, clean house and it didn't take long before the kids started pulling out toys.

Texas Hoedown

It was a busy week for the last week of Sept. Andy traveled to Ireland for work. Matthew is settling into his new school and making friends. Audrey is also doing well in her big girl class. She loves her ballet class on Tuesday. Matthew learned about Texas at school and had a chili cook off on Friday, Sept 27th. I attended and watched a nice Texas Hoedown where all the kindergartens did the chicken dance and dos-si-doed. The kids had a blast and enjoyed s'mores made outside without a camp fire- who needs fire when you have 90 degrees of heat to melt marshmallows.
