The week of Nov 17th

It was a busy week for Matthew. I volunteered at his field trip on Wed. We went to the arboretum. Then on Thursday, he had a thanksgiving day feast in the morning. And Friday was grandparents day where my parents come to his school for the morning. Matthew read a poem to the class and they sang songs. Audrey has been asking about her birthday every day. I printed invitations and she helped cut them with the scissors. She placed one in each of the cubbies at school. She was so proud of her Frozen invitations.

We went to a book fair Thursday night and ate milk and cookies. On Friday, my parents ate at Matthew's favorite lunch spot, Subway, and then they picked up Audrey. She was so excited to see them at her school and leave early. They all took a long nap in the afternoon and then we went out to eat after I came home from work. On Sat, we went to get the flu mist for the kids, picked up the Cub Scout popcorn, went to a birthday party, and then on to the airport to go to Houston. We went to the park on Sunday and then to church and a casual Italian restaurant. The weather was warm in the 70s. It was nice hanging out with daddy and Rusty.

The week of Nov 10th

The weather cooked off significantly from 70s to 30s. I didn't like it one bit! The wind blew hard and I shivered the first couple of days trying to get used to the temperature change. I had a meeting with my VP and I had a nightmare of a dream the night before where I dreamed that I didn't show up on time, my boss was asking where I was, then I showed up and my computer wasn't working. I woke up in a panic. But my meeting on Tuesday went very well. I was making sure my dream did not come true! Andy says he still has that dream where the college tells him he was signed up for a class that he didn't realize and now it's finals so he has to take the test. Andy recalled that he was trying to negotiate with them and get out of one class but they were telling him he had to take a D in the other. He woke up in a panic and realized he had been out of college for 20 years! Lol!
Matthew and Audrey had a great week. We had family game night on Friday night with spaghetti. Andy came home later that night and the kids were happy to see him. On Saturday, we cleaned up the clutter around the house and then headed to the park with Audrey wearing her Elsa costume on the bike. Bad idea! The dress got caught in the chain so bad and I had to cut it out. I guess I should have seen this one coming. I was annoyed Audrey wanted to wear it and this proved my point that she needed to leave it behind. I was also annoyed that I had to pull her all the way home since her bike pedals didn't work. She wasn't upset. Just watched me cut the dress with a serious face. We went to church on Sat night and ate dinner at one of our favorite tex-next spots Mi cocina. On Sunday, it was cold and rainy and we were getting tired of the indoors so we went to Lego land at Grapevine Mills Mall.
The kids loved it! Matthew had been once during the summer so he was telling Audrey about it. After that, the kids jumped on the trampoline at the mall. Audrey has no fear. We should make her a t-shirt "Anything you can do, I can do better". We came home and ate dinner and watched a red box movie, the Penguins from Madagascar.

The week of Nov 3rd

Everything went well the week of Nov 3rd. The kids enjoy their schools and we have our routine down pretty well now. Ms Peck picks up Audrey in the evenings and meets me at Matthews school where the kids get to play on the playground. They beg me to let them play longer but I know they are hungry so I try to get then in the car before 6:30pm. I made dinner every night and I'm normally not a cook so I was quite proud of that! On Friday, we took a southwest flight to Houston. I was originally thinking of driving but when Audrey started whining, I realized I would go crazy with her acting like that for 4 hours in the car. We went to the airport and the kids were in heaven with candy and ice cream. During the flight, Audrey pooped and her mood changed for the better. It's nice to fly where you have a bathroom conveniently located at all times. Sure beats driving! Daddy picked us up at the airport with Rusty. They were both happy to see us. The kids went to my parents for the weekend while Andy and I stayed in Houston with Mike. We drove around the area and went out to eat. We met my friend Kelly for lunch one day. The weather was perfect in the 70s. We flew back to Dallas Monday night. It was late and I went upstairs to get a pull-up for Audrey and stepped on a bird in the dark. I screamed and danced around as my toes had felt it and it was fluttering around on the stairs. The kids ran over because they never heard me scream that loud. We went to bed not sure what it was exactly but in the morning I realized it was a bird.

Happy Halloween 2014

The kids were counting down the days until the Halloween festivities at my work on Thursday. Matthew remembered it from last year and he couldn't wait to go again. We went trick-or-treating on Friday at Matthews friends' house near St Rita. He was playing with the boys with his light saber before going trick-or-treating. Audrey was excited to go in her Elsa costume. The temperature was hot all week until Halloween and it dropped down to the 60s. Audrey liked to talk to the people at home. She would say "I'm Elsa and Matthew is Star Wars". Matthew would get frustrated and say "I'm not Star Wars. I'm Darth Vader". We counted the candy and sorted it at home. And then we played Halloween Bingo over the weekend. It's their favorite game now.

The week of Oct 10th

It was another busy week. Andy worked from home on Monday so no traveling until Tuesday when he took a trip to NYC for a conference. He came back on Thursday since he had a surgery scheduled for Friday. Matthew was out of school on Friday so he went with Andy and I to the surgery. It was a long day of waiting but Matthew was a trooper and kept Andy from being nervous. After the surgery, we picked up Audrey and went to the park where I arranged a playdate for Matthews class. Many of his friends were there and Matthew had a blast running around with his buddies: William, Bobby, and Noah. Andy just rested at home the rest of the weekend. On Saturday, I took the kids to a roller skating party in the morning, Matthews end of the year soccer lunch, then we took naps at home before going to another birthday party for Matthews friend and then Audrey and I went to a fall festival at her school. It was a day of running around but the kids had a blast and Andy was able to get some rest. On Sunday, I took the kids to chuck-e-cheese because Matthew had all A's on his report card. They loved every minute of it! I vowed to relax at home the rest of the day.
