Last weekend in April

It's hard to believe that April is almost over.  The weather has warmed up now and we were able to enjoy the pool in our backyard for the first time now.  The water warmed up but the kids still wanted to get in the bathtub after the swim to warm up so it's not completely comfortable at this point.  On Friday, we enjoyed family game night and played mousetrap.  On Saturday, we played at home most of the morning and enjoyed the toys since they missed them last weekend.  We picked up sandwiches and had a picnic at the park.  

Matthew had a t-ball game later in the afternoon and he played 3rd base.  He did well at paying attention and fielding the ball and throwing a good throw to first base.  He made it to first base most times at bat except once when he was tagged out.  He had a lot of fun.  The way the rules of the game are setup, it's virtually a tie every game and just more an opportunity for the kids to learn the game.  He has a good coach that gave good pointers and positive feedback.  

On Sunday, we went to church and then out for breakfast afterwards.  We took a nap and then went to the Dallas Children's Theater - Charlotte's Web.  Audrey and Matthew love going to the theater.  Matthew gets excited and says "it's the best day ever".

Easter 2014

For Easter weekend, we went to Sarasota Florida to visit Uncle Bob.  We enjoyed spending time with Peg & Rich, Tom, Sally, Bill, and Mimi.  We swam in the pool, watched the "Frozen" movie, and played with the games at the hotel.  On Easter sunday, we went to church and enjoyed an opera singer there!  What a treat!  And then the kids changed clothes and hunted easter eggs in the palm trees.  Later that day, we went to Siesta Keys beach and the kids loved every minute of it.

Girls trip to Austin

I drove to Austin for a girls weekend with my sister.  My parents drove over and picked up Audrey for the weekend.  It was her turn to visit Nanna and Papa all by herself.  She talked about going ever since Matthew went there for spring break.  She didn't cry at all.  In fact, she went away smiling and waving "bye Mommy".  I wish I took a picture.  It was so cute.  I couldn't believe what a big girl she was!

We celebrated my brother, Greg's birthday over dinner before I headed back to Dallas.  Audrey was exhausted and slept nearly the entire trip.  Thank goodness!

Matthew's first t-ball game

Matthew had his first game of t-ball on Saturday.  He basically ran out of the car, went up for bat right away, and hit the first pitch and made it on first base!  We were so proud of him!
