The week of Oct 18th

The weather is back warm again. Andy started a new job on Wed so he had Monday and Tuesday off. He worked out, went to the grocery store, and made dinner. He commented how quickly the time passes when you are home all day. We had a soccer game on Saturday and went to church later that night. Matthew is really good at playing defense. Andy calls him the "iron curtain" to block the ball. We had a picnic in the park and just enjoyed staying around the house since I had the sinus cold that Audrey and Andy just had. The allergies are pretty bad so we are not sure what is a virus and what is allergies. It was a week of adjustment with Andy starting his new job, and now I am doing more of the take/pick ups where Andy used to do most of them. But we are making it work and still managing to enjoy life in the process. We are truly blessed with 2 little munchkins. They play together pretty well and keep us young!

The week of Oct 6th

After traveling to California, we were happy to get back into the routine and enjoy a weekend at home. The weather was still hot during the week. I went to the state fair on Wed afternoon as a team outing with coworkers and it was 95F. I ate fried Reese's peanut butter cups and watched a pig race. It was nice to get out of the office for an afternoon. The temperature dropped over the weekend into the 60s. The kids rode their bikes to the neighborhood park. And we went to see The Boxtrolls at the movies. Matthew had a Cub Scout meeting where they did a science experiment with mentos inside a 2 liter coke to watch an explosion. He dressed up in his Cub Scout uniform and he looked adorable with his missing front teeth.

California Adventure

Matthew had a soccer game Monday evening. I went with Rusty since Andy's allergies were bad. On Thursday evening, we headed to California for a day at
Disneyland. We hid in our closet for a short while a tornado passed through town an then we packed up our bags, dropped Rusty off, and went to the airport. Andy and Matthew split up to ride the big kid rides while Audrey and I rode the little kid rides. The lines were not bad early in the morning but as the day progressed the temperature set a record at 105F! Luckily we were used to the hot heat. We ate lunch with the princesses and we thought Audrey was going to faint when she met each princess. Her favorite was Rapunzel because of the play that we just went to the previous weekend.

After a full day at Disneyland and California Adventures, we went to eat at Cheesecake Factory. On Saturday, we took the train to Solana Beach and spent some time with Lori and Bryan at the beach. We flew back to Dallas on Sunday and went to church that evening. It was a great weekend getaway. We just wish the weather would have been cooler in Anaheim.

Week of Sept 22nd

It was a busy week and our allergies were bothering all of us. Andy has it the worst. On Monday, we missed Matthews soccer practice because none of us wanted to be outside. We just wanted to go to bed early. Audrey has some sinus issues, too. We made it through the week and then felt better over the weekend. Nanna, Papa, and Mike came into town for the Arkansas vs A&M game. Uncle Joe and Janet came, too. Matthew had a soccer game where he played offense this time. He played hard in the 90 degree weather. We ate BBQ that evening and then enjoyed chocolate chip cookies at home. The kids helped make them.

On Sunday, we went to a birthday party and then to the theatre for Rapunzel. Matthew played hard at the party and he wasn't too interested in princesses so he fell asleep. Audrey loved it and decided it's her favorite new princess.
